Description:
- The pick and place project consists of a servo system with two ac servo drives connected along with two servo motors which move along two predefined paths which make the Z and Y Axis.
- These servo drives are controlled by a PLC through an EtherCAT communication protocol along with a HMI for setting the necessary functions required for the custom two axes operation.
- The main function of the servo system is to pick up freshly prepared glass beakers from an apparatus where the beakers arrive one by one, and a gripper arm attached to the vertical axis picks them up and places them on a chain conveyor.
- One servo motor is assigned to move along horizontal Y axis and the other motor is assigned to move along the vertical Z axis, both the axes move in a synchronized manner.
- As demonstrated in this video the two servo motors are attached to a mechanism that moves about two axes.
- The gripper arm attached to the vertical axis works on pneumatic pressure and has two grippers to lift two beakers simultaneously.
